Ram is preparing for the arrival of its facelifted 2025 Heavy Duty full-size pick-up trucks, which are now in the final phase of development and due on local soil in a matter of months.
Set to be on sale by Christmas, Ram Trucks Australia boss Jeff Barber told media at this week’s launch of the updated 2025 Ram 1500, the 1500’s larger and more capable siblings are almost ready.
“We’ll have new 2500 and 3500 at the end of the year,” he said. “We’re still working on engineering and development but hopefully by the end of the year, we’ll have some news on that.”
Similar to the just-launched 1500 update, the facelifted heavy-duty pick-ups will don a fresh look but are likely to retain their familiar 6.4-litre V8 and 6.7-litre Cummins turbo-diesel six-cylinder engines, as opposed to downsizing as per the 1500.
Speaking of, Barber says there are still examples of the outgoing HEMI-powered Ram 1500 left, for those wanting to get one the last V8-powered pick-ups, but stock is drying up.
“It varies model to model; we’ve got some that’ll last until the third quarter of this year and some that are nearly out, so Limited for example is almost out,” said Barber.
“We’ve sold all of ours; it’s just what’s in dealer stock now.”
Despite dominating sales and arguably pioneering the full-size American pick-up segment here in Oz, the Ram 1500 will soon be sold out, leaving the Chevrolet Silverado – with its 6.2-litre petrol V8 – as the sole V8-powered option in the segment.
