Ford Australia is keeping up the pressure on Toyota's HiLux 4x4 by rolling out the Ranger 4x4 XLS Special Edition from next month.
Claimed to offer $4900 worth of added features, the Special Edition Ranger is based on the 4x4 XLS dual cab models and is priced $2500 higher. Prices for the 3.2-litre Special Edition are $49,990 for the manual variant or $52,190 for the automatic.
The extra accessories fitted to the Special Edition are: Sports bar, 3500kg-capacity tow bar, side steps and a bed and tailgate liner.
"Already considered one of the most capable and desirable pick-up trucks on the market, we expect the Ranger 4x4 XLS Special Edition will help us narrow the gap to Toyota even further, with Ranger 4x4 now only 172 units behind the Hilux 4x4 year-to-date," said Ford Australia President, Graeme Whickman.
