Honda Australia has issued a recall notice for a host of its most popular models from 2018 and 2019 to rectify a fuel pump that may cease working.
In total, 22,366 vehicles are subject to the recall, all sold in Australia between the dates of July 26, 2018 and May 12, 2020. According to the manufacturer, a part within the fuel pump could swell, causing the pump to cease operating. In that event, the engine would stall or refuse to start, thus posing a crash risk.
The vehicles concerned are the MY2018 Honda Accord (66 vehicles), MY2019 Honda City (390 vehicles), MY2018 Honda Civic (5210 vehicles), CR-V for MY2018 and MY2019 (7361 vehicles), HR-V for MY 2018 (6438 vehicles), Jazz for MY2019 (2790), Civic Type R for MY2018 (110) and one unit of the NSX for MY2019.

Owners of the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Outlander PHEV for the 2020 model year have been notified that 1948 vehicles are being recalled for a seatbelt sash anchorage for the right rear seat not assembled correctly during production. The importer advises that the occupant in the right rear seat may not be properly restrained in a crash. Owners of the vehicles, which were all sold in Australia between July 31, 2019 and March 31, 2020, are recommended to contact their nearest authorised servicing agent to have the vehicle inspected and the fault rectified. BMW is alerting owners of 1269 vehicles sold in Australia between the dates of September 27, 2018 and August 1, 2019 that the steering track rods may be damaged by exposure to high temperatures and strong vibrational loads. Should the track rods break, the vehicle’s steering may fail, leading to a crash. The vehicles subject to this recall are the F97 generation of X3 M, F98 generation of X4 M, the G20 generation of 3 Series passenger car and the G29 generation of Z4 sports car. All the vehicles were built during the years 2018 and 2019.
BMW is notifying owners of the recall, recommending that the subject vehicles be taken at once to the nearest authorised servicing dealer, or owners may phone the BMW Group Customer Interaction Centre on 1800 813 299 to make the necessary arrangements.
