Renault Koleos Black Edition arrives

French brand’s mid-size SUV gets black-out treatment

A special-edition Renault Koleos has been released, based on the mid-range Zen variant but adding a host of black-themed extras for a little extra cash.

Limited to just 400 examples Down Under, the Koleos Black Edition is priced from $36,990 drive-away – $1000 more than the retail price of the Zen – and claimed to add $3000 worth of gear.

The extra grand buys not only buys you statutory on-road costs but a range of new aesthetic features such as larger 19-inch dark grey alloy wheels and gloss-black roof rails, door mirrors, side steps and interior trim.

Three metallic exterior paint colour choices are available: Grey, Black or Universal White.

Power comes from the same 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine used across the four-variant Koleos range, including the front-wheel drive Zen, paired to a CVT auto.

Standard carryover equipment include a 7.0-inch touch-screen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED fog lights with cornering function, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, reversing camera and front/rear parking sensors.

The Renault Koleos Black Edition comes with a seven-year/unlimited-km new-vehicle warranty and five-year/150,000km capped price servicing with roadside assist.
