Renault Australia is continuing to push along its ageing Renault Koleos in the twilight years of the mid-size SUV’s current lifecycle, announcing an MY23 update that adds more equipment, a new model variant and higher prices of up to $2900.
Just as the French brand’s alliance partners are gathering steam with their new models – namely, the Nissan X-TRAIL and Mitsubishi Outlander – the 2023 Renault Koleos soldiers on with this minor update that the local importer believes “will ensure we remain competitive”.
The range now opens $2000 higher with the Life 4x2 that’s priced from $37,000 plus on-road costs, while the mid-series Zen 4x2 starts $2900 higher than before at $41,700 plus ORCs.
A new Zen 4x4 model has arrived, set at $44,200 plus ORCs, while the range-topping Intens 4x2 and 4x4 models continue with only a modest increase at $45,200 and $47,700 plus ORCs respectively (+$200).
There have been no mechanical changes, meaning every MY23 Koleos relies on a 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that combines with a CVT automatic.
To justify the price hike, new features on the MY23 Koleos Life 4x2 include:
New features on the Zen 4x2 and 4x4 models include:
For the flagship Intens 4x2 and 4x4 twins, Renault has replaced the Bose sound system for ‘3D Sound by Arkamys’. It has also removed Sand Grey Nappa leather upholstery from the options list.
All three trim levels no longer have front fog lights or the wide-view driver’s side mirror.
Every Koleos model is backed by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years of roadside assistance.
They also come under a five-year capped-price servicing scheme that costs $2750 over the term.
