Renault Koleos upgrades to seven-year warranty for less

Drive-away pricing also introduced for French mid-size SUV

Renault Australia has announced an extended seven-year warranty and drive-away pricing for its mid-size SUV, the 2020 Renault Koleos.

Renewing the fight to its mid-size SUV rivals including the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5, the Renault Koleos range now starts at $31,990 drive-away for the entry-level 2WD Life auto variant (previously $32,490 plus on-road costs).

That represents a saving of about $3000 and the same applies to the rest of the range – $35,990 drive-away for the mid-range Zen, $42,990 drive-away for the 4x2 Intens and $45,990 drive-away for the flagship 4x4 Intens.

In addition, the 2020 Renault Koleos will be uprated to a seven-year warranty for private buyers, and seven years/200,000km for commercial owners.

Carryover capped price servicing provisions are also available, with a five-year/150,000km program priced at $2715 – spaced across 12-month/30,000km intervals.

All Renault Koleos models save for the flagship 4x4 Intens come equipped with front-wheel drive, drawing power from 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol mated to a CVT automatic.

Standard equipment on the entry model Life comprises LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, 7.0-inch touch-screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and cooled front cup-holders.

On the safety front, the entry car comes equipped standard with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

The Koleos Zen justifies its $4000 premium with 18-inch alloy wheels, rear tinted windows, sat-nav with live traffic information, heated front seats, leatherette upholstery, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, blind spot monitoring and front and side parking sensors.

The Intens sits above its stablemates with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, electronic tailgate, panoramic sunroof, a larger 8.7-inch touch-screen with 11-speaker stereo, a cooling (ventilation) function for the front seats, ambient lighting and automatic high-beam.

The savings and warranty provisions come into effect immediately and will be limited strictly to the Koleos range, Renault says.
