Renault Australia has released a more upmarket version of its diesel Koleos crossover, priced at $45,490 plus on-road costs.
That makes the new Koleos range-topper just $1000 pricier than its petrol-powered equivalent, the 2.5 Privilege ($44,990), but $6000 more expensive than the Koleos Bose 4x4 diesel special-edition offered previously at $39,490.
For the money, the more luxurious oil-burner offers the same 2.0-litre dCi four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which consumes an average of 7.6L/100km with its standard six-speed automatic transmission, but comes with a host of extra features.
They include a panoramic glass roof, bi-Xenon headlights with fixed cornering lamps, parking sensors, hands-free entry and ignition, joystick-operated integrated satellite-navigation, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist and 18-inch alloy wheels.
As with the petrol Koeos Privilege, the diesel also features an innovative child-minder mirror that allows the driver to easily view the rear-seat occupants.
Renault Australia Managing Director Justin Hocevar said the addition of the top-spec Koleos diesel was in response to customer demand.
Like all Renault passenger vehicles, the Koleos is covered by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and is currently available with Renault’s zero per cent finance offer, which ends on December 16.
“The Koleos Privilege Diesel makes a welcome addition to the Koleos family,” he said. “Our customers having been asking for a top-specification diesel and we are delighted to be able to launch one.
“Koleos sales are up 90 per cent year-to-date, as a result of our refocussing on the model line-up and the mid-life update we undertook a short while ago. We are delighted the response from the market has been so positive.”
