Renault has revealed pictures and some spec of its all new Dacia Duster-based ute.
Badged Renault (Dacia doesn’t sell in Brazil) the new derivative is named the Duster Oroch pickup and comes available with either a 81kW 1.6-litre or a more powerful 105kW 2.0-litre petrol. Diesel will not be offered, but later on a six-speed automatic will join the standard five- and six-speed (2.0-litre-only) manual.
Offering a bed capacity of 683-litres, it’s not known how heavy the little ute’s payload is but, like the regular Duster SUV front- and four-wheel drive will be offered.
Made in Sao Paulo, the new ute has been made specifically for Latin America and Russian buyers which means right-hand drive is unlikely to have been factored into the ute’s development but is feasibly possible thanks to the existence of the right-hand drive Duster SUV.
Back in Brazil the Duster ute pricing is said to start from around $20,000.
