The 2027 Hyundai Tucson has been unofficially rendered (again) after camouflaged prototypes were spotted testing on public roads in recent months, with the new-generation medium SUV set to look nothing like its predecessor.

As with every previous Tucson, the new model will don a completely new aesthetic with very few visual links to its forebearer beyond its rough proportions.
The rendered vehicle has been mocked up and inspired by recent spy imagery, which shows the next-gen five-door will take design cues from the bigger Santa Fe, with a more muscular look and a lot more straight lines and contours.
A full-width LED light strip underlines the bonnet while the headlights are positioned low on the front facia, split by a wide mesh grille and underscored by a bridge-like body-coloured panel.
Bold wheelarches and a floating roofline add some bulk to the look while the tailgate looks like it’s been pinched off a much smaller vehicle with its vertical LED taillight stacks and full-width black contrast panel.

Powertrains are anticipated to primarily comprise upgraded versions of the current turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol hybrid system and some sort of refined entry-level 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol, not to mention the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system offered overseas.
A high-powered N track monster will sit atop the range, supported by a variety of N-Line, XRT and standard models that’ll no doubt make up the bulk of sales.
carsales understands that while the next-gen Tucson could make its global debut later this year, it won’t reach local showrooms until well into next year – likely not until mid-year or even Q3, given the timeline of the previous model, which was updated in mid-2024.
