Retro-inspired Suzuki Jimny Heritage Edition here in April

Vibing decals, red mudflaps and an injection of exclusivity headline limited-run version of in-demand compact off-roader

Automatic versions may still be unavailable to order due to overwhelming demand, but another 300 Suzuki Jimny manuals are being made available to Australians in the form of the new limited-run 2023 Jimny Heritage Edition, which has been designed to honour the compact 4x4’s off-road heritage dating back to the 1970s.

Based on the top-tier Jimny GLX manual – pricing for which increased to $31,990 plus on-road costs in January, when the entry-level Jimny Lite price was also hiked by $3500, to $30,490 plus ORCs – the Heritage Edition is priced at $33,490 plus ORCs and will be available exclusively with a manual transmission.

Just 300 units are coming to Australia and the extra $1500 brings red mud flaps, a Jimny Heritage cargo tray, retro-inspired Heritage decals, build number badging and an exclusive Jimny Heritage pack.

The rest of the standard equipment list reads the same as the standard Jimny GLX manual, including a 7.0-inch infotainment display with satellite-navigation, LED headlights, climate control, power-folding door mirrors and centre cabin light.

No changes have been made under the bonnet, where you’ll find the same 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine as the rest of the range, still outputting 75kW/130Nm.

The default manual transmission has five speeds and drives all four wheels through a selectable 4x4 system.

But unlike the regular Jimny variants, only four colours are available for the Heritage Edition: Jungle Green, Bluish Black, Medium Grey and White.

“Strictly 300 units in total of this retro legend will be available,” said Suzuki Australia managing director Michael Pachota.

“These vehicles will sell out quickly.  With swift delivery to follow, I encourage all serious buyers to jump in fast.”

Suzuki is now taking registrations of interest via its dealers and website ahead of first deliveries commencing in April.
