Rolls-Royce Wraith and Dawn dropped in Australia

The number of Rolls-Royce models available in Australia has been cut to three with confirmation the 2022 Rolls-Royce Wraith coupe and Rolls-Royce Dawn convertible are being pulled from the local line-up as other countries take priority.

Coming off the back of a record sales year, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ local division has told carsales the “Phantom, Cullinan and Ghost have been given priority allocation in Australia” over the Wraith and Dawn, with orders for the latter two no longer being taken.

“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ business in Australia is robust, with customer demand outstripping supply, however rarity is a key facet in this segment,” the company said in a statement.

“Global demand and production for Phantom, Cullinan, Ghost, Wraith and Dawn are at an all-time high, after a record year in 2021.

“Sadly, Wraith and Dawn are now fully booked out for Australia and will no longer be available to order.”

Their departure means the local Rolls-Royce line-up now comprises solely of sedans and an SUV, although the all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre due late next year or early in 2024 will herald the return of a two-door model.

Depending on local allocation and deliveries, the Wraith and Dawn’s axing could have a significant impact on the hallowed British brand’s sales in Australia this year given the two-door models accounted for almost half its volume in 2021 – 20 from a total of 48.

It also underscores the fact that Rolls-Royce has an evolving customer base in Australia and that the unavailability of Wraith and Dawn could in turn boost demand for the Spectre, which has already attracted plenty of interest from local buyers.
