Santa Fe introduces new driving aids

Hyundai's large SUV, subtly facelifted for 2015, brings new high-tech goodies to the table
Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are a glaring give-away to pick the revised Hyundai Santa Fe from previous models.
The safety feature, which is standard for all variants, is joined by advanced features now offered at no extra cost in the mid-range Elite and flagship Highlander variants for 2015.
For the sake of convenience, the Santa Fe Elite and Highlander models are now specified with Smart Tailgate – an automatic powered tailgate that opens when it registers the presence of the car's proximity key for three seconds' duration. This is, Hyundai claims, an improvement on the foot-sweep system adopted by other car companies.
Fitted as standard in the range-topping Santa Fe Highlander are the Smart Parking Assist System, which steers the car for the driver while reverse parking, and the Lane Departure Warning System to warn the driver should the Santa Fe begin to leave its present lane. Front parking sensors are now standard. The flagship is also specified with ventilated leather/leatherette front seats and a panoramic sunroof that can be opened or closed with the engine running.
For the trainspotters, the 2015 Santa Fe can be identified by a darker chrome grille across the range. All models gain the DRLs, and cornering lights are also new for all three grades.
The Santa Fe is now offered with a lifetime capped price service program and 10 years' roadside assistance. Pricing for the new model year is unchanged at the entry level – the Santa Fe Active – but has risen $500 to $48,490 for the Santa Fe Elite, and by $1250 to $53,240 for the Santa Fe Highlander.
"The award-winning Santa Fe has been a success story for Hyundai in Australia since its launch in 2012 and the upgraded version for 2015 should help maintain that strong sales performance," said Hyundai Australia Director of Marketing, Oliver Mann.
"We're proud of the vehicle's refinement, practicality, performance and value."
