The fifth-generation Honda CR-V Turbo is set to broaden its family appeal even further, with Honda announcing the model will soon be available in both five and seven-seat configurations.
Due to launch in Australia in July, the new CR-V will deliver power and economy customers may not readily associate with an SUV, says Honda.
The CR-V is powered by Honda's VTEC Turbo engine. Producing 140kW and 240Nm, the powerplant will be mated to both two and four-wheel-drive drivelines.
"For Australia, the Honda CR-V will be a significant player in the medium SUV segment," said Honda Australia's Director, Stephen Collins.
"As well as the VTEC Turbo engine line-up across the range, family buyers will also appreciate the versatility afforded by being able to choose between five or seven-seat models," he said.
"Our customers have been asking for this level of versatility and now we'll deliver it."
Building strongly on the previous generations, the fifth-generation Honda CR-V blends fresh styling with a refined and spacious interior, a quiet cabin and a host of technologies.
"When you step into the new CR-V you'll know you're in a premium, quality cabin but that 'premium-ness' will also be evident in the driving experience," Collins said.
The all-new CR-V has already achieved sales success in North America; now Honda Australia is hoping the new model will be embraced by buyers in this part of the world.
Honda says full model details, pricing and specs will be released closer to the model's local launch.
