Organisers of the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney have rolled out the extra berths to welcome the latest guest arriving from Europe -- Volkswagen brand, Skoda.
With Volkswagen's management wanting to share floorspace with Skoda and luxury marque Bentley, the FCAI -- the organisers of the Sydney event -- set up a bespoke area under the same roof of the exhibition centre at Darling Harbour.
Named 'the Pavilion', the Volkswagen group stand changes the whole nature of the show, according to chief executive of the FCAI, Andrew McKellar.
"The expansion of the auto brands into The Pavilion has allowed us to change and improve floor arrangements, making the show look and feel substantially different from past years."
"The Volkswagen Group, including Bentley and Skoda, are to be commended for the vision and entrepreneurial spirit they have displayed in establishing The Pavilion."
Occupying Hall 6 of the centre, the Pavilion carries the motor show over the threshold to be the biggest year in the event's history -- literally.
AIMS will be the venue for the launch of Skoda -- a manufacturer based in the Czech Republic -- and its first two models to be sold in Australia, the Roomster (more here) and the Octavia (more here). In addition, Skoda will have the Yeti concept (pictured) on display.
