There’s an all-new Skoda Fabia on the way to Australia within the next 12 months, but in the meantime the Czech brand is offering its best-ever deals on carsales’ Best First Car.
A range of aptly-named MY21 Skoda Fabia Run-Out Edition models have been announced, bringing more value to the existing 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and body style line-up.
The former continues to include the 70kW/160Nm 70TSI manual (previously priced from $18,390 plus on-road costs) and the 81kW/200Nm 81TSI with seven-speed DSG auto (previously from $21,390).
The latter continues to include the hatch and unique-in-class Fabia wagon, which previously commanded a small $1100 price premium.
That premium has now shrunk to $1000 and all on-road costs are now inclusive in a trimmed-down four-variant MY21 line-up that excludes the Monte Carlo flagship and now starts at $21,990 drive-away for the 70TSI manual hatch and $24,990 drive-away for the 81TSI auto hatch.
Standard safety features across the range include Front Assist with City Emergency Brake (AEB), adaptive cruise control, fatigue detection, Multi-Collision Brake, six airbags, reversing camera, tyre pressure monitor, front/rear seatbelt reminders, ESC, ABS, EBD, ASR and Hill Hold.
Infotainment extends to a 6.5-inch touch display with SmartLink connectivity including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, Skoda surround sound and a multi-function trip computer.
There’s also 16-inch Black Vigo alloys, sports suspension, sports multi-function steering wheel, LED daytime driving lights, LED tail-lights, front fog lights, privacy glass, black door mirrors and grille frame, black roof (hatchback), silver roof rails (wagon) and a black rear diffuser.
Convenience equipment includes an umbrella under the front passenger seat, remote central locking, front armrest with storage compartment, mobile phone holder, cargo net system and folding luggage hooks.
For an extra $3200, an optional Premium Package adds Side Assist blind-spot monitoring and Rear Traffic Alert, full LED headlights with Adaptive Frontlight System, KESSY proximity key and alarm, rear parking sensors, Climatronic air-conditioning, Light Assist auto headlights, auto wipers and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
Standard paint colours include Candy White and Corrida Red, while Race Blue metallic and Quartz Grey metallic cost $550 extra.
Like all new Skodas, the Fabia comes with a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, and is available with two pre-paid service packs – three-year/45,000km for $750 and five-year/75,000km for $1350.
