Skoda has announced it will update the infotainment systems of its Superb, Karoq and Kodiaq as part of 2021MY upgrades.
The new touch-screen unit might look almost identical to the one it replaces but the large sedan and small and mid-size SUV models will all benefit from the Volkswagen Group's third-generation infotainment matrix seen in the new Mk8 Volkswagen Golf.
New features that will arrive with the multimedia system include Laura – Skoda's new digital assistant – plus internet radio, smartlink wireless tech and greater levels of personalisation.
The tech updates also introduce new USB-C sockets, in place of the outdated USB-A ports.
All versions bar the most basic 6.5-inch system will come with a built-in SIM card to provide a permanent internet connection.
As well as being quicker and smoother in its operation, the new infotainment system offers users apps for everything from news, weather to Google Maps and Apple Music.
Opt for the range-topping Columbus navigation set-up and you'll get a larger 9.2-inch screen in place of the former 8.0-inch unit.
As with a smartphone, you can save your profile and user settings and transfer them to a different Skoda vehicle if your car's in for service.
Each car comes with a maximum of 14 different profiles, alllowing users to save settings for everything from the virtual cockpit display, climate control system, drive modes and even your favourite ambient lighting colour.
It's not yet known when the MY21 Skoda Superb, Karoq and Kodiaq models will arrive Down Under.
