Skoda welcomes an influx of new stock

Improved supplies of Octavia, Kamiq and Karoq slashes delivery wait times for key Skoda models

Skoda Australia is welcoming the arrival of an influx of new stock, shortening customer delivery wait times for the Czech brand’s core models amid severe supply problems across the auto industry.

While other brands continue to struggle with extended wait times for their volume-selling models, Skoda’s local division says it has now landed plenty of new Octavia, Kamiq and Karoq vehicles – its three best-selling models so far this year – following a challenging 2022 in which wait times for most of its models blew out and some key features were stripped.

Skoda Australia brand director Michael Irmer said the three nameplates were “Skoda’s pillars” Down Under and that customers had been waiting for this kind of good news.

Skoda Kamiq

“Each of these models, in their different ways, embody Skoda’s unique combination of European technology and simply clever features with transparent whole of life ownership costs,” he said.

“Specification that may be optional elsewhere is expected by Australian customers.

“Select features are currently available as options and – thanks to Australia being prioritised as a high specification market – are fitted to the vast majority of our inbound stock.”

The new stock influx means Skoda customers will now be able to order and receive their new vehicle in next to no time – provided they aren’t after a unique specification configuration.

Skoda Karoq

If their preferred spec isn’t in stock, carsales understands new Skoda orders will still only take a couple of months to fill – much less than the wait times for some other brands, including certain models within the wider VW Group.

Next year will see the release of the facelifted Kamiq, Octavia and Scala small car, as all three models reach the middle of their respective lifecycles.

Production of the Skoda Enyaq and Enyaq iV battery-electric SUV duo for Australia will also start next year, ahead of their subsequent local market launches.
