The last we knew from Skoda Australia, the Superb Outdoor was being evaluated for the local market – but there was no firm commitment that the softroad variant would come here. Skoda Australia has now declared its hand, releasing full specs and pricing for the Superb Outdoor to the local media. The vehicle – described as a "Special Edition," which may mean it's available to order only and possibly for a limited time – is an Alltrack or Allroad version of the standard Superb Elegance wagon.
Available with just the one drivetrain, the 2.0-litre 125TDI engine coupled to a six-speed DSG transmission and driving through a Haldex system to all four wheels, the Superb Outdoor is priced at $52,690 (manufacturer's list price) or $55,690 drive-away – $6000 more than the front-wheel drive Superb Elegance wagon. Peak power for the Superb Outdoor is 125kW and torque amounts to 350Nm between 1750 and 2500rpm.
Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, Alcantara/leather combination seat trim, fatigue detection, keyless entry/starting and sun blinds for the rear side windows. Those features are additional to the specification of the mid-range Superb Elegance.
