Subaru Australia has officially sold 60,000 WRXs and to celebrate, has revealed the very yellow and very limited Club Spec Evo, with prices starting from $63,190 plus on-road costs.

Reviving one of the most iconic nameplates and colourways in WRX history, the Club Spec Evo is essentially a ‘Sunrise Yellow’ version of the existing tS Spec B with a few matching yellow appointments within the cabin and some unique badging.
The interior highlights extend to the seats, yellow contrast stitching and an individually numbered Club Spec Evo build plate – the rest of the spec sheet matches the tS Spec B: Recaro bucket seats, dual-zone climate control, Ultrasuede and leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and power adjustment for the driver’s seat.

Contrasting against the yellow paint are matte black 19-inch wheels, behind which lurk gold Brembo brake callipers and three-way adaptive dampers – all as per the tS Spec B.
No changes have been made to the 202kW/350Nm turbocharged 2.4-litre petrol boxer engine stashed under the bonnet, nor the six-speed manual transmission and symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD) system it operates through.
Club Spec variants typically arrive towards the end of a WRX model’s tenure – save for the previous one that pre-empted the tS Spec B’s release – so it will be interesting to see how much longer the current generation hangs around.
Subaru has been teasing plenty of exciting WRX-related product in recent times and supposedly there have been leaks of the next generation, but history shows most Rexys usually enjoy a six- or seven-year lifecycle, meaning the VB should still have a couple of years up its sleeve.
