Alfa Romeo has announced a limited-edition version of its two-door coupe, but only 10 Aussies will be able to get their hands on one.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Competizione is based on the Italian car-maker’s 4C coupe coupe and powered by the same 177kW 1.8-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder and TCT dual-clutch transmission, but adds extras like a titanium Akrapovic exhaust, sports suspension and a range of carbon-fibre components.
Priced a cool $30,900 higher than the standard Alfa 4C Coupe ($89,000 plus on-road costs), the Competizione’s dual-mode central exhaust comes with a carbon-fibre outlet and other exterior additions include a carbon-fibre roof, mirror caps and side air intakes.
Fitted with sportier double-wishbone front and MacPherson strut rear suspension, the special-edition 4C is painted exclusively in Vesuvio Matte Grey with unique Alfa-inspired livery covering the bonnet and boot.
Inside the cabin, an aluminium dash insert shows off a Competizione badge and is contrasted by a black leather and microfibre sports steering wheel and seats, both with red stitching.
A numbered limited-edition badge is featured on the centre console and an upgraded Alpine Premium sound system adds a subwoofer mounted behind the seats and an amplifier in the passenger side footwell.
Red brake callipers are covered by dark alloy wheels – 18-inch up front and 19-inch for the rear – and wrapped in Pirelli ‘Racing tyres’ for extra grip, although claimed 0-100km/h and top speed figures remain unchanged at 4.5 seconds and 258km/h.
Alfa says it will build only 108 Competizione special-editions globally, 10 of which are available in Australian dealerships now – each with a price ticket of $119,900 before on-road costs.
