SPY PICS: Baby Opel MPV gets a refresh
New look (slightly) for Opel Meriva mini MPV, but it's unlikely to come hereOpel’s baby people-mover, the Meriva, is about to get a minor makeover that is expected to make its European debut in 2014.
The facelift follows on the heels of Opel’s minor reworking of the Astra. The images captured here by the spy photographers at Automedia show the small MPV is in line for a revised front-end with daytime running lights – and not much else.
The uncamouflaged rear-end in these photos suggests any changes up back will at best be minimal.
The Meriva has been a subject of speculation as a possibility for Australia and Opel Australia MD Bill Mott is a big fan, but GM’s German brand is busy enough here with its current line-up, which includes the Corsa, Astra and Insignia.
To May this year it has sold a total of 830 vehicles, the bulk of which comprises Astra models.
Opel Australia has confirmed it will be offering the larger Zafira MPV in August this year, while the Mokka compact SUV is slated for introduction in the third quarter of this year, after Holden introduces its version, the Trax.
