Ford's next Focus sedan has been snapped in the European Alps just months after we brought you the new generation model as a hatch.
At the time of our original report, it was expected that the global launch for the Focus would be late this year, which could mean a preview in LA. Production is not expected to commence before 2018, however. And as we postulated for our earlier story, the lead-time necessary for the Thai plant to gear up for production will likely delay Australian-spec cars going on sale until at least mid-year, if not later still.
It's believed that the new Focus will be larger all round and based on an entirely new platform, although it may be shorter in height. Much of the extra bulk should translate to a more spacious interior, with an apparently longer wheelbase.
Engines may be updated, but are expected to be otherwise carried over from the current model.
