Ford’s upcoming performance SUV, the Ford Puma ST, has been captured testing by spy photographers.
Although still unconfirmed for production by the manufacturer’s global development boss, the sporty crossover has been photographed testing for the second time this month, sans camouflage.
Ford Australia has already confirmed the garden-variety Puma is on its way Down Under, replacing the uninspiring and unloved EcoSport SUV in the second half of 2020.
As for its performance-flavoured sibling? We reckon it’ll debut sometime this year – and fingers crossed we’ll see it land here too!
Word is the Puma ST is powered by the same 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo as the brand’s smaller Fiesta ST – meaning it’ll good for 148kW of power and 290Nm of torque via a six-speed manual, with drive sent to the front wheels.
Visually, the ST incorporates sportier elements including a small spoiler on the boot lid, new wheels, a front splitter and slightly pumped-out wheel arches.
Ford Australia is yet to comment on the Puma ST.
