SPY PICS: Front end Focus
Ford is working on a new look for the Focus that will bring it into line with the soon to be launched Fiesta facelift, as well as the upcoming new MondeoFord’s already sharp Focus is about to get even crisper with a facelift currently under development by the European styling team.
These spy pics from Automedia of a prototype on test in Europe indicate the Ford small car will get a similar look to the Fiesta facelift, as well as the new Mondeo – and even the current Territory.
Ugly cladding at the extremities of the new horizontally slatted grille can’t disguise the new, finely-ribbed look that will identify the next Focus – even if, as the photos suggest, the back end of the five-door hatch is pretty much left well alone.
The new-look Focus is expected to go on sale in Europe early in 2014, with Australia following some time later.
The Focus is a vital model for Ford in Australia. Year to date, it has outsold every other model in the local Ford range. This includes the Falcon – which has managed less than half the numbers achieved by the Focus – the Territory SUV and the Ranger LCV.
