Two Volkswagens for the price of one. That's what our audacious spy photographers at Carparazzi have been able to offer, following their good fortune snapping the next generation Golf while testing in the Alps.
Carparazzi had already caught the Eos-based Scirocco sporting variant in the US (more here), but now they also caught one napping on home turf at the Nurburgring. The Scirocco revives an old and well regarded Volkswagen name from the seventies and eighties.
Golf VI will be more aggressive in its styling than the current car and Volkswagen management has demanded that the new car be faster and easier to build, according to Carparazzi's contacts. It's due to go on sale in Europe late next year.
Scirocco and its successor, the Corrado, were canned in the mid nineties when buyers stopped seeing the value, but recent sales success for the Golf GTi and R32 have provided Volkswagen with the impetus to go ahead with this new sports coupe.
