The Honda Jazz pictured here circulating the Nordschleife – the famous 'northern loop' of the iconic Nurburging track in Germany – is an all-new model due in Australia next year.
Honda engineers are completing the finishing touches for the next-generation light hatch, which is expected to offer buyers a bundle of driver-assist safety features collectively labelled 'Honda Sensing'.
As we've reported previously, the new Honda Jazz will introduce the active safety equipment to the rest of Honda's local range after the flagship models score it.
The new model will be available in some markets in hybrid form, but if Honda Australia does bring a hybrid Jazz here, it will likely be a high-spec variant priced accordingly.
Sales of the current model are on the wane, as is the case for the entire market segment. In 2018 the Honda Jazz found just under 7000 homes -- less than the Hyundai Accent, Mazda2, Toyota Yaris and Suzuki Swift.
The Suzuki's sales have been boosted with the introduction of a new model that's lighter and more economical. Honda will be hoping to achieve that same level of success when the new Jazz arrives.
