Hyundai Australia's localisation program for the Santa Fe SUV appears to be on track for the new model's local launch around the middle of this year, as these pictures reveal.
Forwarded to motoring.com.au by a Facebook follower, the photos show two cars in convoy, the lead vehicle towing an undisguised Elantra on a trailer. The wheels are the clear tell-tale that this is the latest model of Santa Fe in pre-production form.
As we observed in this story from last week, the new Santa Fe adopts some of the styling details of the smaller Kona SUV, and will debut next month in Geneva.
Hyundai has a local engineering team tasked with calibrating suspension and steering to suit local conditions, and these two vehicles are clearly involved in the program to put the final touches to the Santa Fe, so that it doesn't ride like a dray or handle like a bucket of worms on Aussie roads.
