SPY PICS: Peugeot updates 308

Polished Pug hatch and wagon get a mid-life facelift

Peugeot’s facelifted 308 has been spotted testing in southern Europe in both hatchback and wagon guise.

Not much appears to have changed, the only exterior changes expected to come from a new frontal mask designed to house larger air intakes and a sensor for autonomous emergency braking (AEB).

There’s no word on new engines for the mildly updated Pug, the model range expected to feature the same powertrains offered in the current 308 range.

Hopefully there will be a few more advancements inside the cabin. The 308 has failed to excite Australian buyers, selling just 990 units year-to-date despite being one of the French car-maker's most convincing models ever.

That number represents around half the number of Hyundai i30s sold in the last month alone (1864 units). Last month Peugeot sold just 100 examples of the 308 nationally.

We expect the facelifted 308 to make its world debut at the Paris motor show on October 29, before reaching Australian shores early next year.
