The next-generation Subaru Levorg STI Sport wagon has been revealed in concept form at the Tokyo Auto Salon, previewing a car set to be launched later this year.
Sadly, despite releasing full pics, Subaru has only announced a few details of the close-to-production prototype.
According to Subaru, the STI Sport model based on the latest Levorg features a Drive Mode Select system that pre-arms the all-wheel drive, steering and powertrain for different conditions.
The Subaru Levorg STI Sport prototype also gets electronically controlled dampers and, according to rumours, will be powered by an all-new turbocharged 1.8-litre flat-four 'boxer' direct-injection lean-burn engine.
With power set to be pegged at 220kW and a healthy weight reduction of around 100kg, thanks to its latest Subaru Global Platform, the Levorg STI Sport should easily be capable of a sub-6.0sec sprint to 100km/h.
More details are expected closer to the production car's launch in the third quarter of 2020.
