Subaru is targeting bargain-hunters with a new limited-edition version of the Forester X.
Making the point that only 550 Forester X limited edition models will be available, Subaru dangles a carrot that tempts with $1500 of features added for a price increase over regular models of $500.
The limited edition Forester is available in five-speed manual or four-speed Sportshift auto form and adds 16-inch alloys, front fog lights, and leather steering wheel and shift lever knob to regular Forester X gear for a recommended retail price of $30,990 in manual transmission form.
The Forester X employs Subaru's 2.5-litre boxer four-cylinder engine producing 126kW and 229Nm of torque. Regular equipment includes stability and traction control, six airbags, active front head restraints, constant four-wheel drive, cruise control and four-speaker audio with single CD player.
The five-star ANCAP Forester topped compact SUV sales in 2008 and so far this year is Australia's best-selling SUV, full stop.
