The Superb has been a mainstay of Skoda's range in Europe, so a new model is big news.
We've already seen a sneak peek at the new car (more here), but now the Czech manufacturer has revealed the Superb in all its glory.
As expected, it incorporates the frontal styling introduced with the Yeti concept and is 35mm longer and 18mm wider, but 8mm lower. The wheelbase is 42mm shorter than the older car, suggesting that the new model has staged a grab for more cargo space -- and consequently more rear overhang.
Bigger than the Passat on which it is based, the Superb will nonetheless feature a hatchback body style.
In Europe, the Superb will be powered by three petrol or three diesel engines, ranging in output from 77 to 191kW. In keeping with other models in the Skoda range, the Superb will be marketed with a selection of manual and DSG boxes.
Features offered will include adaptive cornering headlights, climate control, automatic parking system and nine airbags.
Skoda will introduce the Superb at the Geneva Motor Show in March and the car has already been confirmed for Australia.
