Supercar maker McLaren is launching a range of high-tech sunglasses

The McLaren Vision Collection is what the press release calls “The McLaren of eyewear” and boasts a range of high-tech frame and lens options with what seems to be designed with supercar and F1 style technology.

Designed for both men and women, the eyewear collection comes in your choice of five sunglass lens types tailored to specific environments including driving. The driving lens features progressive tinting that is designed to improve contrasts and sharply shows the road ahead and are not polarised so surfaces are perceived perfectly.

The frames which are manufactured from titanium start at £254.00 ($462 AUD) and go up to £1,578.00 ($2875 AUD). The glasses are made for each owner by using face-scanning to custom build 3D-printed titanium frames, which can be used as either sunglasses or regular prescription glasses. And for these kind of prices you'd hope that they'd fit you well.

The frames come in black with a choice of either grey, yellow, red or orange arms, giving McLaren owners an opportunity to match their latest accessory with their car.

So if you’re keen to own your very own McLaren, albeit as a pair of glasses, you'll be able to find them from select independent retailers, most likely overseas. And at almost $194,000 cheaper than the lowest priced McLaren available to purchase here on carsales, this could be the best value McLaren you’ll ever own.
