Harrop Engineering has answered the prayers of many and liberated more power from the Suzuki Jimny via a new supercharger kit.
Priced from $10,990, the TVS900 Supercharger Kit promises power and torque gains of up to 59 and 42 per cent respectively, translating to maximum figures of 106kW/164Nm at the rear wheels compared to the standard 63kW/107Nm – the claimed factory figures of 75kW/130Nm are taken at the flywheel and don’t allow for drivetrain losses.
These maximum figures were achieved with the help of 98RON premium unleaded fuel and a snorkel, the latter serving an unofficial cold air intake and contributing an extra 6kW/19Nm compared to relying on the standard intakes.
The kit has been more than half a decade in the making and includes the blower itself, a bypass valve, water-to-air intercooler, a carbon fibre airbox (retaining the factory filter) with a 2.5-inch inlet, and a recalibrated ECU, plus all the associated plumbing and electrical work.
“We’re excited to share with you our eagerly anticipated supercharger kit for the Suzuki Jimny,” a Harrop spokesperson said.
“These cars desperately need more power and torque and that’s what we deliver.”
The kit has been met with thunderous applause from the Jimny customer and fanbases, especially since it’s applicable to both the manual and automatic versions irrespective of the door-count.
