Tech upgrade coming for bulk of 2024 Skoda range

2024 Skoda Kamiq, Karoq, Scala, Kodiaq and Octavia to nab new safety and convenience features

Skoda Australia has announced a series of technology updates for its 2024 Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Scala and Octavia model lines when they arrive in the fourth quarter of the year.

Starting from the bottom of the range, all versions of the 2024 Skoda Kamiq small SUV will be treated to side assist, rear traffic alert and a powered tailgate, while a premium sound system will become optional on the Monte Carlo via the available Travel Pack.

The former two features will also be implemented across the two-pronged 2024 Skoda Karoq range, however, buyers of the entry-level Style will also have the option of a new ‘Leather Seats Pack’ comprising leather seat trim, power front seat adjustment and memory, auto-dimming foldable door mirrors, ambient lighting, front and rear LED reading lights and interior footwell lighting.

Meantime, side assist, rear traffic alert, auto-dimming exterior mirrors and power child locks will be added to the 2024 Skoda Kodiaq’s standard equipment list, with the flagship RS 4x4 also nabbing a Canton premium audio system – something which will be optional (via the Tech Pack) on the lesser Style and Sportline grades.

Similarly to the Fabia’s extensive technology suite, the Scala now features side assist with rear traffic alert as standard across the range,” Skoda Australia said in a statement.

“The flagship Signature now also adds a power tailgate.”

Style and RS versions of the 2024 Skoda Octavia line-up will inherit park assist, side assist with rear traffic alert, power child locks, auto-dimming interior mirror and driver’s exterior mirror, while the Canton premium audio system will return to the flagship’s optional Premium Pack.

Other changes to the popular mid-size offering include the consolidation of the Style’s Tech and Luxury packs into a new singular ‘Tech and Luxury Pack’, however, the head-up display and adaptive dampers will not be carried over.

The myriad upgrades to all the mentioned models will inevitably drive their asking prices up, but customers will have to wait for a separate announcement from Skoda Australia – which is said to be coming “shortly”.
