Tesla Model X high-spec pricing revealed

Tesla has quietly shelved the 60D variant of the Model X in Australia, but prices are now in the public domain for the 100D and P100D variants at the top end of the range.

We previously reported the pricing of the SUV in August, but that didn't include details of the two higher-performance models.

At $159,900, the basic price of the Model X 100D includes GST but not Luxury Car Tax (LCT). Similarly, for the Model X P100D, the price of $216,200 does not include the LCT.

Tesla's arcane calculations result in LCT figures of $25,312 for the 100D variant and $42,202 for the P100D. As a consequence, the retail price of the two Model X variants, before on-road costs, is $185,212 for the 100D and $258,402 for the P100D.

Adding statutory charges to the pricing for the drive-away pricing results in numbers ranging between $186,320 for the Model X 100D in the ACT, to $198,239 for the same car in WA. Likewise, the P100D variant costs $259,510 on the road in the ACT, but $276,187 in WA.

All Model X variants feature Tesla's dual-motor system for all-wheel drive traction. The 100D offers a range of 565km (versus 489km for the 90D variant), and the same 0-100km/h time of 5.0 seconds. At 542km, the range of the P100D falls short of the 100D's range, but the flagship is available with the Ludicrous Speed upgrade and can peel off 0-100km/h in 3.1 seconds.
