The Cadillac LYRIQ is now within reach

With the MY25 Cadillac LYRIQ now priced from $95,000 drive away, one of the most feature-rich luxury electric SUVs on sale in Australia has become a genuinely compelling proposition

There is a widely held assumption in the premium electric vehicle segment that genuine luxury costs well over $100,000. The Cadillac LYRIQ challenges that directly. With a revised driveaway price starting at $95,000, the MY25 LYRIQ positions itself as a credible alternative for buyers weighing up mainstream premium EV options – and it arrives with a package that those competitors struggle to match.

The LYRIQ is Cadillac's all-electric midsize SUV, and it brings the brand's storied luxury credentials into a modern, zero-emissions package. Long wheelbase proportions, a wide flat floor free of the transmission tunnel found in conventional SUVs, and seats for five make it a genuinely practical choice for everyday use – without sacrificing the sense of occasion that defines the Cadillac nameplate.

A cabin that earns the luxury badge

Step inside the LYRIQ and the point of difference over mainstream premium SUVs becomes clear immediately. Without a conventional engine and transmission tunnel to work around, Cadillac's designers have created one of the more spacious and airy cabins in the segment. Rear passengers in particular benefit from generous legroom and a relaxed, lounge-like seating position, while smart storage solutions are integrated throughout the interior.

Premium materials extend throughout the cabin – from the tactile quality of the surfaces to the attention paid to personalised climate comfort and ambient lighting. The LYRIQ feels, in every sense, like a vehicle designed to be lived in rather than merely driven.

The MY25 LYRIQ also features Google built-in, delivering a more connected in-vehicle experience with Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Google Play Store seamlessly integrated into the vehicle. It also offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for added convenience and connectivity. In addition, it connects to the Cadillac app, allowing owners to stay in control from their smartphone – whether preconditioning the vehicle, checking battery and charging status, accessing support, and more.

The audio experience is elevated by the Cadillac-exclusive AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system. Developed using Adaptive Volume and Surround Technology, it delivers a high-fidelity listening environment that is genuinely unusual at this price point. The system comes standard – not as an optional upgrade.

Ownership that goes further

The LYRIQ's pricing revision is only part of the story. Cadillac has structured the MY25 ownership package to address the questions buyers commonly ask about switching to an electric vehicle – and the answers are reassuring.

Every MY25 LYRIQ comes with:

  • Five-year unlimited kilometre warranty
  • Five years of premium roadside assist
  • Five years of scheduled servicing (five scheduled services included)
  • Eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty (whichever comes first)
  • One year of complimentary public charging, plus a choice of two additional years of public charging or a home charger installed

The battery warranty alone – eight years or 160,000km – puts the LYRIQ well ahead of many rivals and addresses the residual value and longevity concerns that still give some buyers pause when considering an EV purchase. Pair that with five years of scheduled servicing included in the purchase price, and the cost-of-ownership picture shifts considerably.

The charging offer is also worth noting. For buyers new to EV ownership, the transition can feel daunting. Cadillac removes that friction by covering public charging for 12 months from delivery, with flexibility to extend that to three years or instead have a home charger installed – giving buyers the option that best suits their lifestyle.

Stepping up from mainstream premium

The MY25 LYRIQ's starting price positions it roughly $10,000 to $15,000 above mainstream premium EV options in the segment. The question buyers need to answer is whether the step-up is justified – and the case for the LYRIQ is a strong one.

The AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system alone would command a significant premium on many competing vehicles if offered as an option. The included scheduled servicing and extended battery warranty remove costs that accrue over the ownership period. And the flat-floor cabin architecture, a consequence of the LYRIQ's purpose-built EV platform, delivers a spaciousness that retrofitted or adapted platforms find difficult to replicate.

For buyers who have been researching the premium EV market and want more than the volume players offer, the LYRIQ deserves serious consideration.

The offer ends July 31st
