The facelifted Honda Civic hatch for 2015 has risen in price by $500, but offers an upgraded infotainment system and a torque vectoring facility named Agile Handling Assist, in Honda-speak.
According to the company's press release, Agile Handling Assist is a system that selectively brakes wheels while cornering for improved stability. It utilises the car's standard stability control system, but with added parameters for torque vectoring.
Inside, the Civic hatch is upgraded with Honda's Display Audio System, which offers Bluetooth with audio streaming, iPhone mirroring and a reversing camera display. The flagship variant, the Civic VTi-LN, also features integrated satellite navigation.
VTi-S and VTi-L variants gain a new seat fabric, and all models are finished with a new decorative garnish above the glovebox, revised stitching and chrome trim on the doors.
Built at Honda's UK plant in Swindon, the Civic hatch for the new model year can be identified by restyled bumpers, grille, side protection moulding and rear spoiler. Daytime running lights are new, and the tail lights have been redesigned. Front and rear parking sensors are now standard for the VTi-L and VTi-LN levels of trim.
"The Civic nameplate has such a long history around the world," says Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins.
"It has been an Australian favourite for over forty years. This year, it receives enhanced styling and more specification, ensuring it will remain a favourite."
Metallic paint is a $575 option.
