Toyota drops standard sat-nav into Camry Atara S

And navigation is now also offered as an option on base Camry Altise

Toyota has enhanced the specification of the Camry Atara S by throwing in satellite-navigation as standard, with a seven-inch touch screen, six-speaker audio, Digital radio (DAB+) and voice recognition.

The same navigation system is also available as an option for the entry-level Camry Altise, one grade down from the Atara S – and Toyota's volume-selling variant in the Camry range.

Whether fitted as an option or as standard, the navigation system is bundled with SUNA real-time traffic updates.

"Camry has been Australia's preferred mid-size vehicle for more than two decades. It's a family favourite that also offers clear bottom-line benefits for business owners," said Toyota Australia executive director sales and marketing, Tony Cramb.

"This upgrade reflects Toyota's commitment to continuous and ongoing improvement of Camry's design, quality and specification."

The latest change follows a programmed specification upgrade for Camry back in May of this year.

Prices for the Camry range – including the Hybrid variants – are as follows:
Altise – $26,490
Altise Hybrid – $30,490
Atara S – $30,190
Atara S Hybrid – $33,190
Atara SX – $33,490
Atara SL – $37,440
Atara SL Hybrid – $40,440

Options are:
Satellite-navigation $700 (Altise)
Optional paint $450 (Altise, Atara S, Atara SX)
Moonroof $1950 (Atara SX, Atara SL)
Moonroof/18-inch alloy wheel/sports suspension pack $2950 (Atara SL petrol)
