Well get the pencils, felt tip markers and paint brushes ready because Toyota is putting the call out for entries into their 2019 Dream Car Art Contest.
The annual contest sets the challenge for aspiring young artists to create their vision of a car for the future. The best creations could win a trip to Japan to attend the global awards ceremony.
To enter, submitted artworks need to be original hand-drawn or painted and the top three Australian entries in each age category (under 8 years, 8-11 years, and 12-15 years) will also win a $500 Apple Store gift card. Entries are now open with submissions closing March 1, 2019 so get the drawing pads at the ready.
Toyota Australia chief marketing officer Wayne Gabriel said the Dream Car Art Contest always attracts an amazing range of drawings and paintings by talented youngsters whose concepts often address global issues.
“The contest provides Toyota with an extraordinary glimpse into the issues that concern young people and it's fascinating to see how they use their imagination to address those issues through mobility solutions.”
Last year's Australian winner, 12-year-old Georgia Fields from WA, created the "Cultural Understanding Car" which was chosen from over 4000 Aussie entries.
Georgia's artwork aimed to address global conflict by creating greater cultural understanding between people which earned her a place in the global top 30 entries from more 650,000 submitted entries globally.
