Toyota Kluger Altitude refloated
Limited edition SUV delivers over $9000 worth of extras for a $1300 premiumToyota's Kluger Altitude must be a popular offering. It's clearly selling in numbers strong enough to warrant semi-permanent inclusion in the Kluger range.
According to Toyota, Kluger sales increased 13.2 per cent last year and finished 2012 at 13,239. But sales in 2013 have slid back from 5412 to 4994 units for the year so far, making now the right time to roll out the Kluger Altitude again.
It clearly suits canny buyers looking for a bargain and presumably boosts Toyota's Kluger sales overall. The only variations from the last production run of Kluger Altitude to the new batch are the pricing and Toyota's estimation of the retail value of the extras fitted. This time around the price has been adjusted down $500 (just $1300 more than the Kluger KX-R donor), and the value of the added features has risen to $9000. That difference in price between the limited edition and the KX-R amounts to manufacturer's list prices of $44,490 for the Kluger Altitude in front-wheel drive or $48,990 for the Kluger Altitude 4WD.
Features fitted in addition to the Kluger KX-R's standard specification comprise satnav, upgraded audio with traffic updates, 6.1-inch touch screen with 3D images, Bluetooth with audio streaming, voice recognition, rear-seat entertainment system, tilt/slide moonroof, 19-inch alloys, 245/55 tyres, black roof rails, front fog lights and badging. Four exterior colours will be offered, complemented by a black fabric interior.
