Toyota plant and equipment goes to auction

Another stage in Toyota's transition to full-line importation approaches

Auction house GraysOnline has been commissioned by Toyota Australia to oversee the sale of all the production plant and machinery at the car manufacturer's Altona facility, which is closing in October.

A web page setup by Grays lists Aluminium Casting, Furnaces, Engine Line Machining, Assembly, Robotic Automation, Presses, Testing, Travelling Gantry Cranes and Plant Services to be sold by 'Private Treaty', with other general and maintenance equipment to be sold by online auction.

Interested parties are invited to register with the auctioneer and make any offer on major equipment right up until the final day of production at Altona, October 3.

The assets to be sold, by category, are as follows:
Assembly Shop – Filling, Testing, Delivery Systems
Resin Shop – Robotic Application System‚ Paint Mixing
Engine Line – Aluminium Casting, Machining Centres, Cranes, Furnaces, Assembly
Small Parts e-Coat Paint Facility – Small Parts eCoat Paint Facility
Weld Shop – 17 Hemming Presses, Robots, Cranes
Press Shop – Press Lines, Gantry Cranes
Plant Services – Compressors, Boilers, Water Treatment
Paint Shop – Paint Mix Supply, Robotic Application Booth
Cafeterias – Two Complete 200 Person Cafeterias
