Toyota has added safety features to the Corolla Ascent, Ascent Sport and Conquest models.
Ascent and Ascent Sport have been fitted with front passenger airbags and power windows for an extra $140 over the previous recommended retail price.
The Ascent model now sells for $19,990 and the Ascent Sport, with 15-inch alloy wheels, retails at $21,490.
The safety upgrade does not include an anti-lock braking system; previously part of Corolla's $1400 safety pack. ABS is available for the Ascent models for $900.
The Corolla Conquest, now selling for $23,990, includes ABS and as of July the Conquest model will be available in a new colour: 'Bishop Blue'. Corolla Levin (starting at $27,740) and Ultima ($30,150) remain unchanged.
The specification upgrades affect Corolla Ascent, Ascent Sport and Conquest sedan and hatchback models only. Production of all wagon models ends August this year.
