The Volkswagen T-Roc has scored a new makeup kit for the 2022 model year, including a more refined headlight design, a new daytime running light signature, new bumpers and updated tail-lights.
Due to arrive on Aussie soil in July next year, the 2022 Volkswagen T-Roc portfolio will also usher in a more refined dashboard design comprising touch-sensitive climate controls, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, new steering wheel and the latest MIB3 operating software for the infotainment system.
The updated small SUV’s arrival will also mark the Aussie introduction of the long-awaited Volkswagen T-Roc R, which has also been treated to a few upgrades, including a bigger 9.2-inch infotainment screen.
A bigger range of alloy wheel designs have also been added across the range, as well as a wider variety of paint options and the latest IQ.Drive active safety and driver assist systems, including the Travel Assist suite.
No mechanical changes have been made anywhere in the range, meaning the familiar turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder and gutsier 2.0-litre turbo engines will continue to churn out 110kW/250Nm and 140kW/320Nm respectively.
As before, the smaller mill drives the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission whereas the 2.0-litre uses all four wheels to harness its power via a seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
For the uninitiated, the Volkswagen T-Roc R is powered by the same force-fed 2.0-litre engine as the outgoing Mk7.5 Golf R, the headline figures of which read 221kW/400Nm.
As with the hot hatch on which it’s based, the R-badged T-Roc sends power to all four corners via an upgraded version of the 140TSI’s seven-speed DSG auto.
