The overhauled 2026 XPeng G6 is finally inbound and will arrive in local showrooms later this month priced from $51,800 plus on-road costs, marking a $3000 discount compared to the previous model.

The discount doesn’t come at the expense of any major equipment or capabilities, in fact it’s the opposite seeing as the new model can be charged at up to 382kW or 451kW on DC power, meaning 10-80 per cent can take as little as 12 minutes.
Starting with the entry-level variant, the RWD Standard Range is now powered by a 185kW/440Nm rear electric motor that draws current from a 68.5kWh LFP battery good for up to 480km of range.
The RWD Long Range ups the ante in every respect with a 218kW/440Nm motor, 80.8kWh battery and 525km cruising range.

Above that is the eagerly awaited AWD Performance which adds an e-motor on the front axle for a combined 358kW/660Nm, 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds and a 510km range from the same battery pack.
Sitting atop the four-pronged lineup is the AWD Performance Black Edition which mirrors the standard Performance’s kit list (read on) and capabilities but dons exclusive black exterior paint, black 20-inch wheels, smoked-black exterior elements (badging included) and black brake callipers.
As you might expect, the base battery can’t be charged as intently as the long-range unit (451kW), but 382kW is still nothing to be scoffed at, especially when it delivers 10-80 per cent in 12 minutes (under ideal conditions) – all versions charge at 11kW on AC power.

Standard equipment across the range includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, 18-speaker XOPERA sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air (OTA) software updates and dual wireless phone charging.
The XPILOT Assist safety suite meantime provides adaptive cruise control, lane centring, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, door open warning, traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree camera with clear chassis view.
The updated G6 will arrive in local showrooms this month as the first model offered by XPeng under its new factory-controlled distribution model, having recently dispensed with independent Aussie distributor TrueEV.
Warranty coverage for private buyers is seven years/unlimited kilometres, with an eight-year/160,000km setup in place for the battery.
