Volkswagen Australia has already updated its new-generation Tiguan and Tayron SUV offerings, instilling the pair with Turning Assistant 2.0 for the MY26 model year along with a couple of other equipment tweaks.
“Turning Assistant 2.0 is now standard on the Tiguan and Tayron, enhancing oncoming vehicle braking capability by having the ability to detect oncoming traffic driving straight, and which the driver is about to turn across (as before) – and now, also oncoming traffic that is about to turn towards the driver,” Volkswagen (VW) said in a statement.
The brand also said the Tiguan 110TSIs’ move from 19-inch to 17-inch (Life) and 18-inch (Elegance) alloys has been made in the name of ride comfort, though we suspect it could also be for better variant differentiation and production cost reasons.

Looking into 2026, the Tiguan and Tayron model lines will be fleshed out by the arrival of the plug-in hybrid ‘eHybrid’ variants while production of the smaller but much hotter VW T-Roc R will finally wrap up as the new generation approaches.
VW Australia hasn’t announced pricing changes for the MY26 Tiguan or Tayron yet but typically releases pricing a week or two after confirming specification – so expect an update soon.
