WATCH: 2020 Skoda Vision IN teased in detail

Budget-priced SUV features lots of crystalline elements in its design

Skoda has posted its first video tease of the Vision IN Concept, which previews a new budget-priced small SUV that was created for India but could one day be sold in Auatralia.

Following on from the drawings released a couple of weeks back, the latest teaser shows the actual concept and how it will be adorned with plenty of unusual crystal styling elements inside the cabin.

Outside, the Vision IN looks close to production, with its split LED headlights and unusual full LED light bar.

Inside, there's a full digital instrument panel, a free-standing infotainment system, a classy-looking new multi-function steering wheel and black and brown leather seats.

Despite being made only for the emerging Indian market at this stage, the Vision IN concept gets lane keeping assist, cruise control and voice control.

Beneath, it rides on the modified MQB A0 IN platform that's set to be tailored for the Indian market.

Measuring in at 4260mm long, the concept is around 19mm longer than the Kamiq, suggesting it will have a more spacious interior.

Under the bonnet, it's not yet known what will power either the concept or the production car it previews, but more will be revealed following its official reveal at the Delhi motor show on February 5.

It's unclear whether Skoda's newest compact SUV will eventually be sold in markets outside India such as Australia, where the all-new Skoda Kamiq arrives on sale in May this year.

The Czech car-maker's smallest SUV will be offered here with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 85kW/200Nm and is combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
