What Nissan models offer e-POWER?

Nissan’s innovative e-POWER powertrains have been introduced to Australia within selected grades of the X-TRAIL Medium SUV and the QASHQAI Small SUV.

In the X-TRAIL range, e-POWER is offered in three grades – ST-L, Ti, and the flagship Ti-L. All variants offer e-4ORCE electric-drive four-wheel-control technology and seating for five, with prices starting at $49,990 RRP (plus on-road costs).

Each X-TRAIL e-POWER model features a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 106kW of power and 205Nm of torque. As this engine is not connected to the wheels, it acts purely as an energy source, providing power directly to an inverter that transfers electricity to a compact and lightweight 2.1kWh lithium-ion battery mounted underneath the front seats – without any impact to cabin space.

The battery pack then powers two electric motors that drive the wheels for an EV-like driving experience, one each on the front and rear axles. The front-mounted electric motor, which generates 150kW of power¹ and 330Nm of torque¹, does most of the work most of the time, while the 100kW¹ /195Nm¹ electric motor mounted on the rear axle engages when required, under heavy acceleration or when needed for maximum traction.

All three X-TRAIL e-POWER models are equipped with a generous list of standard equipment including ProPILOT², which can automate steering, acceleration and braking in certain conditions, and a 360° Intelligent Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection.

QASHQAI e-POWER will be exclusively available on the flagship Ti model priced from $51,590 RRP (plus on-road costs). The model features a revised version of e-POWER and uses just a single electric motor on the front axle that produces 140kW and 330Nm.

QASHQAI e-POWER comes equipped with a host of luxury features, including a combined 35 inches of total display screen size across three screens, quilted leather-accented seat trim³ with a massage function for the front seats, a full-length glass panoramic sunroof and a Bose® 10-speaker premium audio system. Like X-TRAIL e-POWER, QASHQAI e-POWER offers ProPILOT².

All e-POWER variants are covered by Nissan’s five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty4 with roadside assistance and have an affordable capped-price servicing plan for the first five years of ownership.
