Wicked upgrade kit confirmed for HSV Camaro ZL1

But the Aussie suspension tune for the hardcore muscle car no longer happening

HSV has confirmed a berserk upgrade kit for its supercharged V8 Camaro ZL1 is on the way.

The 1LE upgrade kit is already available in the States, but now will be available to Aussie owners, to make their ZL1 Camaro look tougher and handle even better.

Headlined by a bunch of aerodynamic enhancements, the kit is said to include a huge rear wing, wider (+1 inch) and stickier Goodyear tyres and more scoopy-aero bits up front for extra downforce.

Sportier dampers are also in the mix, designed to improve the scorching V8 muscle car's handling capability.

No changes will made to the ZL1’s powertrain, comprising a thirsty 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that bangs out a colossal 477kW and 881Nm.

The 1LE upgrade kit will apparently be available in "extremely limited" numbers when it reaches Australian shores, with interested customers being encouraged to contact their local HSV dealer to secure the upgrade for themselves.

But at what price, you ask?

Well, that’s something the Aussie company is still yet to confirm, as is the expected arrival date.

What HSV has confirmed today is that it no longer plans to offer a local suspension tune for the two-door muscle car.

HSV told carsles.com.au that a local suspension upgrade was not required because "…customer feedback on the US [suspension] tune has been great."
