Chevrolet has released a teaser video of the incoming 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 ahead of the supercar’s unveiling later this year.
Confirming the Corvette ZR1 will be revealed “this summer” – during the third quarter in Australia – the US car-maker has promised that “no Corvette has ever moved quite like this”.
In the video, Chevrolet has resisted the temptation to show off the full car, but you do get a glimpse of a darkened silhouette of the flagship ‘Vette being driven hard.
We can see the ZR1 will get a huge rear wing – a less-than-subtle hint it will feature race-bred aerodynamics likely to include active spoilers that can either maximise downforce or minimise drag on the straights.
Expected to be powered by a mighty twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8, leaked documents have previously suggested the ZR1 could produce more than 850bhp (635kW) and 1120Nm of torque.
There’s no word on whether the new twin-turbo V8 will include hybrid assistance.
More details and teasers should be released in the build-up to the ZR1’s debut in a couple of months.
The ZR1 is being primed to challenge the incoming Porsche 992-series 911 GT2 RS and, indeed, a prototype has been spotted testing back-to-back with the last-gen GT2.
Australian availability is yet to be confirmed, but we’d be surprised if no examples of the ZR1 make it Down Under given the Z06 and E-Ray are both destined for our shores, albeit in limited numbers.
