Xiaomi has confirmed its YU7 GT electric SUV will be officially unveiled in late May, following its first public appearance at the Beijing Auto Show.
Positioned above the standard YU7, the GT brings increased power, revised chassis hardware and distinctive exterior changes. While Australia is not yet confirmed for Xiaomi’s car range, we’re likely to get a local arrival around 2028.

The YU7 GT is the performance-focused version of Xiaomi’s large electric SUV and serves as the range flagship, similar in positioning to the SU7 Ultra sedan.
Externally, the GT adopts a more aggressive front design with Xiaomi’s ‘water-drop’ headlights, a new Cherry Red paint option, and a revised aerodynamic package.
Changes include a larger front splitter, a more prominent rear diffuser and larger brake callipers.

The side profile features frameless mirrors, flush door handles and extensive airflow management, with Xiaomi claiming 10 through-air channels and 19 vents.
Wheel options include 21-inch alloys, while 295/40 R22 tyres and a 24K carbon fibre exterior badge are listed as options.
At the rear, the YU7 GT retains the ducktail-style spoiler and “halo taillights” seen on other Xiaomi models, alongside GT-specific badging and a more pronounced diffuser design.

The YU7 GT weights about 2460kg and measures 5015mm long, 2007mm wide and 1597mm tall, with a 3000mm wheelbase.
Power is supplied by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing a combined 738kW, made up of a 288kW front motor and a 450kW rear motor.
Xiaomi claims a CLTC driving range of up to 705km and a top speed of 300km/h.
Chassis hardware includes air suspension, an active ride stability system, rear-axle torque vectoring and advanced traction control.
Braking is handled by Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with regenerative braking support.
It’s expected pricing is likely to sit between 450,000 and 500,000 yuan (around $AUD93,000 to $AUD103,000), placing the YU7 GT among a growing group of high-performance electric SUVs from new and established brands.
Xiaomi has not confirmed whether the YU7 GT will be offered outside China, including in Australia.
However, carsales predicts Xiaomi cars are unlikely to reach Oz before 2028.
